Fri. Cleveland woman wounded over fireworks incident A 25-year-old Cleveland woman was shot Monday night in a dispute after a bottle rocket exploded on East 129th Street. Lakea Moses, of East 52nd Street, was treated at MetroHealth Medical Center and released. According to the police report: Moses was with a man who shot a bottle rocket at East 129th Street and Craven Avenue. The device flew up a driveway in the 3600 block of East 129th Street and exploded near a group of people lighting fireworks.
A 20-year-old man became enraged and confronted the man who had fired the bottle rocket. He shouted, "You almost hit my baby." Moses was with the bottlerocket shooter and told the 20-year-old that the rocket was accidentally fired up the driveway. The two began shouting at each other. The 20-year-old pulled out a small revolver and fired, striking Moses in the chest. The shooter ran and was seen getting into a car on Gay Avenue.
Police have a suspect's name but were unable to find him.
